Dot Work Tattoos

Artist: Dan DiMattia
Studio: Calypso Tattoo

Dot work tattoos are a mix of African tribes, Polynesian culture, Indian henna designs, ancient Greco-Roman motifs, and modern geometrical forms as well as many others. They are highly detailed and usually a mix of free hand and stencils to make sure that it fits your body area chosen for the tattoo. These are usually done on a larger area due to the intricate designs needing space for the full impact.

As you can see by these photos, this style of tattooing results in many varied and beautifully intricate designs that are a sure fire knockout.

If you want this type of tattoo, I would suggest making sure that the tattoo artist you choose has done this before and you have seen photos of their work since this takes a very steady eye and hand or you will have a less than stellar tattoo.
