I think that lower back tattoos on women are cool and yes, sexy. This does not imply that all lower back tattoos on women are automatically "tramp stamps" or any other derogatory name. The lower back or the whole back is just an area that can be tattooed both on males and females, period, end of story.
We have probably all seen a few women that made really poor choices for a lower back tattoos especially the one that is on the internet that looks like a butterfly from far away but up close it is actually rather obscene. That is a person that made a bad choice that they will live with. How is she going to explain this tattoo to her children? But this type of stupidity does not make all lower back tattoos "tramp stamps" unless they are sexually graphic in design.

As you can see by the above tattoos, there is nothing trashy or sexually explicit and should be viewed as what they are, nice tattoos. So don't let anyone discourage you from getting a lower back tattoo if that is what you want. Break the stereotype and get something that is well done and not suggestive and you will probably love it.
