As these pictures show, they are NOT “tramp stamps” but beautiful tattoos that should be appreciated for the art an how well they fit the women that have them.
People need to get over the stigma of tattoos, particularly on women and just appreciate the art involved instead of making snap judgments on the morals of the wearer.
Shame on women that help to perpetuate the “tramp stamp” mentality as they are helping to continue the demeaning of women.
If a man can have a lower back tattoo, such as this, why is it not also a “tramp stamp?”
It is a beautiful piece of tattooing and just happens to be on the lower back. This area is perfect for tattoos and anyone whether male or female should be able to have a tattoo there and not have crude names attached to it.
Enjoy the art of tattooing and stop judging the wearer even though that is hard to do when people go overboard and have their faces tattooed or objectionable pictures tattooed on themselves.
Then you can question the reasoning behind such behavior and choices but get to know a person before judging them for being tattooed. And when you see a beautiful tattoo, appreciate the art of it, not look down on the wearer.

These are gorgeous! I've never considered them tramp stamps, but do admit to a bit of stirring when I see them on the right canvas.
Thank you for your comment. I am a Woman myself and a pretty girl with a sexy "tattoo can make me have a "bit of a stirring" when I see a beautiful woman and I am NOT a lesbian. I just think that a beautiful body shape with a beautiful artistic tattoo is a moving sight whether it be a man or a woman.
These are amazing. Unfortunately, there are a lot of women who have lower back tattoos that are not as tasteful(like a guy's name across their backside)and as beautiful as these. I honestly think that the less tasteful ones go a long way in perpetuating the tramp stereotype. It is kind of a two way street. But it is their body so they can do what they want.
I have seen some really beautiful ones though. There will always be people who don't have good taste, but hopefully more women will consider the message before getting it tattooed on their bodies.
Yes, unfortunately there are some pretty bad ones out there. I won't put them on here since the one I am referring to is really bad and she deserves whatever bad comments she gets. Women that have sexually suggestive tattoos will have a grand time explaining them to their children later on. Think before you ink!
The first one is a m a z i n g!! I have been browsing tattoos all over the internet and I keep coming back to this one. I would love to find a stencil for it or a similar tattoo.

I agree, people so need to get over the idea of women having tats has to reflect a baser nature. It is not true in every case just as there are trampy women out there with no ink. Good tats are based on good art and talented tattooists, that why they are called "tattoo artists" and the ones that really are produce spectacular art that a few people have the great privilege to wear.
I work in a tattoo studio and I do have to sigh to myself at every woman coming in wanting a generic symmetrical lower back tribal/vine/butterfly cliche... Gawds, we even had a very young woman come in a few days ago, point to the lower back tribal worn by a model posing, splayed out from behind, in a lad's mag (eew) and ask for a quote for the exact same tattoo. That got laughs all around!
The motivation for tattoos like this are, 9 times out of 10, to get attention from men when they wear low cut pants and high cut tops out at night. It's little more than an accessory and these SHOULD be called tramp stamps. Thay're a dead giveaway on character, like playboy bunny tattoos.
Sadly this majority ruin it for the few, like you featured, who wear beautiful art.
So yeah, kinda old now but I just found this. Not that I agree with demeaning anyone but that is the social stigma. Just because you don't like some cultural mores doesn't change what they are. Of course nothing intrinsic about a lumbar tattoo means anything, but if you don't want to be perceived that way I would avoid it. If you don't care (because you disagree with culture norms or w/e) and don't concern yourself with how others view you than it shouldn't matter anyway.
I have a problem with the whole "art" thing though. Some tattoos, especially traditional Japanese one's I could see an argument for, but it hardly rises to the level of Piccaso or Rembrandt. There aren't any tattoos in the Louvre and you certainly wouldn't get the Mona Lisa.
I like art, I just find it strange that a fairly mediocre drawing or sketch, or hell even one that would be great for a sketchbook or print suddenly becomes "art" when its permanently carved into someone.
I like tattoos, I just think that like art, it should have some meaning (generally, to the artist or the audience) and even pretty tattoos just come off as soulless and tacky. They certainly wont be "art," when the skin starts to sag and those fine lines blur from the sun. Art has soul, most tattoos are just neat designs with short-sighted owners. I can see the idea behind prison tattoos, military ones, etc. Something to remind or embrace meaning but art for arts sake defiles the idea.
As a (straight) male with a lower back tattoo, I agree wholeheartedly!
