More Foot Tattoos

I have thought long and hard about getting a foot tattoo. I love most of the ones I have seen and since I run around without shoes most of the time I would have a fairly easy healing period and everyone would get to see it :0)

One of the things that has held me back is wondering how painful it will be. Now I know from experience that the level of discomfort/pain is differnt for every person and on different places. I heard that the wrist was a painful area but my wrist tat didn't bother me except for a spot or two. I just know that there isn't much under the skin on feet to protect you from being right on top of the bones so I am a bit chicken so far.

Also, this is one time that the choice between a color tattoo or just black ink is an issue. I have a collection of great foot tattoo pictures that are in color and just black and I have read that a black ink tat on the foot lasts longer between touch ups than the color tats do. I love florals and just don't know which way I would go.

Here are some foot tattoos to give you some inspiration.

See why I said it is difficult to decide - color or black - just look at how great either one looks!

Black and Grey Tattoos

There are lots of things to take into consideration and preparation of getting your tattoo, especially your first. Besides figuring out what, where and what size you want your tattoo to be you also have to decide whether you want color or just black and grey.

Tattoo enthusiasts can be pretty divided on this issue while some of us like both. Sometimes it is strictly personal choice, sometimes it depends on what the tattoo really needs or the location of the tattoo.

If you have a color tattoo on your foot, you will more than likely have to have it touched up quicker than if you have a black and grey one. Some designs just look better in color while others should be black and grey

As you can see, black and grey tattoos are great and can change the whole way a tattoo can look. It is up to you to decide if you want color or to go more traditional and stick with black and grey.

Whatever you chose make sure you have a good if not great tattoo artist do your ink for the best results.

Happy Tattooing!

Butterfly Tattoos

Butterfly tattoos are very popular with women, I know, I have two of them myself. They are pretty and feminine and can be paired with other items or stand alone. They can be large or small scale depending on where you put them or what look you are going for.

Feminine Foot Tattoos

One of the most popular tattoos today for women are foot tattoos. These can range from extremely simple to rather detailed depending on your preference. They can only be on the top of your foot or wind up your ankle and leg in a continuing pattern. The ideas are only limited on your imagination and preferences.

Foot tattoos do take some commitment though as they require more upkeep than tattoos on other portions of your body due to wear and tear on the tattoo from your shoes. By taking precautions such as keeping the area softened with lotion or creams to prevent the tattoo from drying out and flaking away and using sunscreen when barefoot, you can have a long lasting foot tattoo.

This is an area that may be more painful to get tattooed on but the end results can be fantastic as these pictures show. Just be aware that there is little muscle under the skin in this area to cushion needle on bones. You will also have to forgo shoes as much as possible as your new tattoo heals so be prepared accordingly.

Foot tattoos are very popular with women as they can be a very feminine addition.
