Fairy tattoo styles abound and you can get about any type with great results as long as you have a tattoo artist that can do the face well. I have seen some that were great until you looked at the face, then they looked too much like a creature from outer space and I don't think that is the look you want to go for.
Ask to see if your tattoo artist has any pictures of fairy tattoos that they have done and look closely at the details. Are the colors good, is it detailed or does it run together and most importantly how does the face/hair look.
This one is an example of how the face can be just a little bit off and make a difference. It's not horrible but you can get an idea of what I'm talking about.
Fairy tattoos can run the gambit from plain styles like the one above to very detailed like this one though the face on it still is just a wee bit off but not too bad.
Now this one is better on the details and the face.
See what a difference it makes? Unless you look at a lot of fairy tattoo pictures you might not notice what kind of difference lots of detailing and how the face is done matters. I have a keen interest in fairy tattoos and have lots of photos of the them and I began to notice a marked difference in them. Not just the style of fairy but on the details.
This is one of my favorites. Look at the details and the face, just really beautiful and I'm not a fan of black ink alone especially on a fairy tattoo where you can explore the use of colored inks.
So, if you want a cool fairy tattoo be careful about who does it. Make sure your fairy will shine.
